DON'T bid on and or buy it from Ebay. You will invariably pay over the odds for something easily available. Alan is not precious about his autograph and signs practically everything he is asked to. To obtain Alan's autograph, the Stephen Joseph Theatre stocks signed copies of all of Alan's published plays. The majority of multi-media adaptations have never been made available commercially and are thus not available. The Stephen Joseph Theatre Archive does not hold the filmed adaptations and holds only a limited number of the radio adaptations (which cannot be loaned or reproduced for obvious copyright reasons). But what if I have found the filmed adaptations on Ebay? Are these legal? In all likelihood these are illegal recordings of the adaptations and should immediately be reported to Ebay. These adaptations are not in the public domain, have not been authorised by the copyright holders and are being illegally sold with proceeds going to people acting illegally.
